Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

We are aware of the fact that the basis of this ministry’s existence is Jesus Christ. We are all in consensus that the level of importance of this ministry is very high as we are dealing with people’s lives. The children that come to Shalom Sunday School are from a wide variety of different backgrounds, some fortunate and others unfortunate. With that said there is one thing they all have in common and that is they all need Jesus. When a person is still young they arevery open minded and they are at the point in their lives when they are most teachable, our motive is to take full advantage of that by teaching them as much about Christ as possible and that the only way to live life on earth is through Jesus Christ.

Our children are at the beginning stages of their life where they are innocent and vulnerable and clueless about life. Our teachings are meant to instigate a willingness from the depths of their hearts to yearn to be more like Christ himself until they can make a conscious decision to accept Him into their hearts as their personal Lord and Savior. That way we will have assurance that they will be able to take on the challenges that Satan throws at them.

When they become older it will be difficult, almost impossible for them to go astray as they will be rooted in Christ. It would be very fulfilling for us to see our children become giants and warriors in Christ because that will enhance the kingdom of our creator. We labour in God’s vineyard to impact the children for the glory of God.
